Sticking.

To the ground.

:boogie: :boogie: :boogie: I'm so happy! We NEVER get snow here! And we may even have the day off tomorrow! *knock on wood*

For me, for chem class:

Title: Mass to Mass Stoichiometry Lab

Purpose: To determine the amount of sodium chloride that can be produced from a known amount of sodium carbonate reacted with hydrochloric acid.

Materials:
-Sodium carbonate
-4M hydrochloric acid
-evaporating dish
-dropper pipette
-hot plate
-electronic balance
-spatula

Procedures:
1. Please wear goggles and apron for this lab!!!
2. Measure the mass of a clean, dry evaporating dish and watch glass, and record.
3. Add 1.45 grams of sodium carbonate to the evaporating dish. Measure the mass, with the watch glass, and record.
4. Slowly add 7.6 mL of hydrochloric acid to the sodium carbonate. When bubbling stops, add more hydrochloric acid by drops until you reach a point where no bubbling occurs.
5. Place dish on the hot plate using the watch glass as a cover.
6. Heat the dish gently on the hot plate until only dry solids remain. Make sure no water droplets remain on the underside of the watch glass. Do not heat too rapidly. If the product boils, it may spatter out of the dish.
7. Turn off the hot plate. Remove the dish and allow to cool. Determine the mass of the cooled evaporating dish/watch glass/product and record.
8. Clean lab station.

Pre-Lab Data:
Mass of dish, watch glass, and sodium carbonate: 91.384g
Mass of empty dish and watch glass: 89.979g
Mass of sodium carbonate: 1.405g
Post-Lab Data:
Mass of cooled dish, watch glass, and product: 91.703g
Actual yield of product (sodium chloride):

Conclusion:
1. 2HCl + Na

For every light, there is darkness. Without evil, there cannot be good. That is the way it has been, and that is the way it will always be. For the brighter that you shine the light, the deeper the darkness becomes.

We are suppose to get some tomorrow. Luckily I have no classes anyway. Once you get out of public school, it is becomes a pain though. College doesn't close as easily.
